Based at Green Bay on Bryher we hire a number of small boats for you to be able to enjoy the local waters of Bryher Tresco and St. Martins. Since 2004 there has also been a base operating from the camp site beach on St. Martin's. |

Hire your own boat and explore the tranquil clear waters of Scilly at your own pace. Why not take a picnic and make a day of it on the uninhabited island of Samson? Or tow a line (fishing lines available for hire) and catch some fish for supper? The possibilities are endless and with a safety boat doing regular patrols and staff always ready to come and lend a hand if you're at all unsure, this really is an option available to all, no matter your previous experience. All hirers are provided with buoyancy aids, full safety equipment and given comprehensive instruction on boat handling.
A little more information about the boats that we operate....
Day Sailer... The "Carra" a 16ft gaff rigged boat- an ideal family day sailing boat. This is a beamy boat making it very stable in the water. Carrying a 4hp outboard means you can always go for the motor option if the kids get bored!

Wayfarer... This renowned design of sailing dinghy is perfect for sailing in Scilly's sheltered waters. It can accommodate up to four adults and is an excellent choice for a day or even a week of sailing!
14' Motor Boat... These open boats powered by 4hp outboards were designed on Bryher by Keith Bennett. They were originally built in plywood and now Dan builds them in fibreglass after taking a mould off one of his Father's boats. There are now 8 of these boats in the hire fleet and they are proving extremely popular especially with families due as they are easy to use and offer great stability on the water. They can carry up to 4 people.
10' Motor Boat... Again designed by Keith and built by Dan, these smaller motor boats are good for a couple and easy for pulling up and down the beach should you mis-judge the tide!
Sailing Dinghy... Another of the Bennett built boats, this is similar in size to the popular Mirror dinghy and is a fun single handed sail or a good "teach the kids" boat.

Glass Bottom Rowing Boat... This has the same hull design as the 10ft motor boat but is built from marine ply to accomodate the glass viewing panel. Row around the clear waters of Scilly and catch a glimpse of under water life.
Kayaks... Introduced for the 2005 season, the kayaks are proving very popular. These sit on top craft (double or single) allow you to get close to the water whilst remaining very safe, stable and (mostly!) dry on top.
All craft are provided with the neccessary safety equipment including bouyancy aids to fit all sizes. Full instruction will be given on use of boats and equipment.
